Now that is one funny piece, Joe Varadi! I hadn’t noticed Medium changing the two spaces into one because I very reluctantly made the switch myself a year or two ago. Hated it. Got used to it. Good for whoever decided to do that!

“But angst quickly dissipated into the blissful feeling of one less headache, one less major life dilemma left to resolve.” If I may — ahem — mention that your sentence is one reason to adopt the Oxford comma as your new best friend . . . the headache will come on the day when you don’t use it and a reader (maybe many readers) laugh at something you didn’t intend to be funny.
