James Lilley, I rarely find a story that so closely parallels one of mine, but yours surely did! I have never understood — not completely — the need for stuff. And as I have grown older, I have found I need less and less stuff to make me happy.

There’s a young woman in my village who is a compulsive buyer, mostly of jewelry and shoes. And we both live in tiny homes (around 500 s.f.), so I can’t begin to understand where she puts it all! She admits to owning over 100 pairs of shoes … and I’m not sure that number includes all the flip-flops she has.

The damage we do to ourselves and to our planet is huge, and there’s no Plan(et) B for humans, at least not at this time. When we thoroughly chew this planet up … where are we going to live?
