As usual, David B. Grinberg, you give us food for thought. I don’t know if any of my comments have been deleted; once I write one I move on. I don’t think I’ve ever given someone a reason to delete one, as I don’t troll anyone and if I don’t agree, so what?

The part that amuses me is that you mention “professional” writers, and we both know that many who publish on social media are as far from that label as I am from Mars. Or Jupiter. Or whatever planet is the farthest from earth.

Social media is open to anyone with an internet connection, so the idea that we’re all somehow elevated to that status makes me laugh. Some of the best writers — who write from the heart and head — are not any version of professional writers … they’re people who have something to say and they may do it well or badly.

I do agree that Medium owners would do us and themselves a favor if they followed the LI model … but since I rarely write about anything contentious — either as an article or a comment — I haven’t run into any issues.

And you’ve given me an idea for an LI post … hmmmm. Yeah. Stay tuned!
